👋 It feels like autumn is the year’s end. I

👋

It feels like autumn is the year’s end. In this northern clime, feeling the approach + preparing mentally for winter in the third coldest state of the country.

This year has been one of the hardest yet for many of us; both transformative + intense.

I want to say hello to any newcomers (hi) + welcome you. I’m a multidisciplinary artist who specializes in portraiture, still life + landscape.

I paint by hand, brushes dipped in paint + spread across canvas. Painting is a family heirloom from my mother + grandmother. I care deeply about my subjects + clients. I’m in support of local, small biz, craftspeople, artisans + makers. I believe art is essential for human connection to the earth.

Big biz seems to have this all-encompassing grip on much of the world + it can feel daunting + destructive of community + our human relations. I watch ma + pa (small owned biz) shops slowly disappearing in my community + it aches. Yet we ARE resilient together • Spend your money like your vote!

My client wanted a painting in the style of a vintage film / circus poster honoring the Boxers they cared for through the years as a surprise for his wife’s birthday + gave me lots of freedom to play with the design 🌺

I decided to incorporate the owners birthday stars into an ombré sky - can you spot + name their constellations?

A full moon glows among twinkling stars + below the pink lilies that grew in the garden where these beloved foster pups played.
